What is the buffer tank and its function?
A buffer tank's working principle is to store excess energy generated by a system and release it when demand increases. This helps balance the load, minimize temperature and flow fluctuations, and improve system efficiency.

Here's how a buffer tank works:
Storage: A buffer tank stores excess heat or cooling energy generated by a system.
Absorption: When the system's demand is low, the tank absorbs the extra energy.
Release: When demand increases, the stored energy is released.
Balancing: The tank acts as a thermal reservoir, balancing the load and minimizing fluctuations in temperature and flow. 
What is the function of buffer tank for the heat pump system?

A buffer tank can help prevent a heat pump from short cycling, which can lead to loss of energy efficiency and reduced compressor life. 
These tanks expand the thermal capacity of a chilled water system while also assisting in the temperature control of the return water. As a result, the compressor cycles are reduced,energy consumption and temperature control is improved as the appropriately sized buffer tank provides enough volume to "buffer" the system's volume.

Buffer tank selection recommend:
Water heating system needs to consider the impact of the system water capacity on the stability of thesystem, for air source heat pump heating system, the biggest influence factor is the winter unit defrost. Air source heat pump unit defrost time is 3-8min, take the defrost time 4min to calculate the storage tank volume, winter operation, the host defrost time 4min, the water supply temperature is allowed to reduce no more than 3 ºC.
